Dormant Pecan Trees Outlast Winter

Pecan trees go dormant in the winter, shedding leaves and storing energy to make it through. This process allows trees to live through harsh winters and start budding in early spring. Spring freezes can compromise the health of the tree and the output of the pecan season.
